The BLC Resource classes are structured study halls that provide a consistent source of support for students’ success at Pine City Junior Senior High School. The BLC Resource serves as both a place for students to learn and practice additional academic and organizational skills and as a place for students to appropriately connect socially with their peers and the BLC staff.

Assignment, materials, and textbooks from students’ current classes
Youtube videos, movies, and other materials relevant to current course work
Grading Policy
Students are graded on participation, verbal and written, as well as appropriate social interactions with peers
and adults during the class period. Grades are determined by a percentage of appropriate behaviors and
daily work completed. All grades are pass / fail
Classroom Expectations:
Respect others and their property
Follow staff instructions
Stay on-task
Students will bring books, assignments, and any other material needed from their mainstreamed classes to
their resource hour.
If you have any questions regarding any of the materials or subjects covered in this class, please contact Ms. Rydberg or Mr. Piha to set up a meeting to discuss the curriculum, or to use alternative assignments.
How Parents Can Help
Email your child’s case manager if you have any questions
Encourage your student to read - books, magazines, and/or the newspaper at home
Ask to see your child’s planner in the Dragon Handbook or on their iPad
Sign up for a Schoolview account and check Schoolview each week
Request a weekly copy of your child’s updated Schoolview from BLC staff
